International Forum "Education and Care in Early Childhood", October, 2008

 

In October 2008 Natalya Ryzhova participated in organization of the international pedagogical forum “Education
of Young Children”, that later became a preliminary stage for the future World UNESCO Conference on education
of young children (Moscow, 2010). In particular, Natalya organized and led the workshop on ESD in Early Childhood and made two reports: “Specifics of ESD in ECCE” and “Stereotypes in ecological education of schoolchildren:
the means to overcome them”. The forum was attended by a delegation from UNESCO and representatives of international agencies (The World Bank, UNISEF, PROUN), experts from EU and Asian countries, heads of educational departments, school headmasters and kindergarten directors, pedagogues, scientists, NGO members.

Plenary sessions have been conducted, along with thematic round tables, workshops and presentations of projects, joint with UNESCO.

A number of topics were discussed, such as expanding opportunities for preschool education, enhancement of its quality, ESD, interaction with the families, inclusive education, etc.
